As mentioned in my March Intentions I have been wanting to make a solo trip for quite some time but was unsure of where I wanted to travel. Savannah, Georgia ended up being the perfect spot, not too close but not too far for a quick weekend trip. Not to mention how beautiful the weather ended up being, clear skies with loads of sunshine.
I created this Savannah Georgia Travel Guide while at a coffee shop over the weekend. I love sharing with you guys my favorite local spots so one day if you take a trip to Savannah you can also enjoy these hidden gems.
This Airbnb
Biked to Foxy Loxy Cafe to eat tacos and journal.
Shopped at Savannah Bee Company and took home some honey ginger mead.
Ate a quick breakfast at Goose Feathers Cafe.
Bought some salt water taffy at Savannah Candy Kitchen.
listened to this audiobook in the car
jammed out to this spotify playlist
used this app to track my biking
When I was exploring Savannah I didn’t feel like a tourist but rather I felt like I had just moved to the city. This trip made me realize how my upcoming move in July is all too real. Being alone, and I mean like not knowing a soul within three hundred miles is a daunting feeling. I got a taste of that feeling this weekend. What would happen to me if I got a flat tire? Or got locked out of my Airbnb? Who could I call?
At first, I felt utterly alone, but slowly I started to notice the things happening around me. The friendly barista at the coffee shop that offered me an extra muffin, the family biking near me that asked what I was doing with my day, or the older gentleman that stopped in the square to admire my drawing and pay me a compliment.
Even if I am alone in a new city, I’m never truly alone. There are so many unfamiliar yet, kind faces that one day could be friends, mentors, or helpful stranger in a time of need.
