After such an overwhelming response to my 2020 Book Recommendations, I’ve decided to share what I read each month. I’m sharing my best books in winter 2020. I made it a goal in 2020 to read 36 books, and I’m well on my way!
Apparently, I read a lot these past two months! Six books in total and three of them were five-star reads. I made an effort to make time for reading this year. I’ve tried to replace mindlessly browsing my phone for 15-minutes with 15-minutes of reading a good book. I swear I get a better night’s rest if I do. Of course, this doesn’t happen every night, but it’s a goal I’ve been working on!

The Best Books I Read in Winter 2020
Little Women: 4/5 Stars
By Louisa May Allcott
I reread this book up after falling in love with the latest Little Women movie. Please tell me you saw it. I think it was one of the best movies of 2019. As for the book, it’s slower and even more intimate than its screenplay. If you can get through the slower parts it’s worth reading.
Looking for Alaska: 4/5 Stars
By John Green
Practically anything written by John Green is a bestseller. I was just late to the game with this book. I’ve heard of Looking for Alaska for quite some time before I picked it up. Overall it was a good book. Solid story, with interesting characters. I rated it a 4/5 because it didn’t blow me away.
Daisy Jones and the Six: 5/5 Stars
By Tayor Jenkins Reid
Do you know what book did blow me away? Daisy Jones and the Six. This book is incredible. I don’t want to spoil anything so I won’t say much. Just do me a favor and read it! I recommended it to my friend Anna and she too thought it was hit.
Red, White, and Blue: 3/5 Stars
By Casey McQuiston
For me, this book was a dud. I was really excited to read it when I heard all of the hype, but it wasn’t anything special. I forced myself to get through it and was pretty happy to move on to my next read. Which luckily was a banger!
Circe: 5/5 Stars
By Madeline Miller
This is such a unique book. If you like greek mythology you’ll love it. If you don’t I still think you can appreciate the beautiful storytelling. By the end of the book, I was attached to the characters and their stories. I wanted to know more.
Little Fires Everywhere: 5/5 Stars
By Celeste Ng
Little Fires Everywhere is one of those books that sparked a new genre of storytelling. A bit of mystery, motherhood, drama, and love. Not to mention it’s currently #7 on Amazon’s reading list. Reese Witherspoon is starring in Hulu’s adaptation in March 2020. I can’t wait to watch it!
