This is my first time seeing the Fall Foliage in Colorado and it’s breathtaking! Every fall, aspen leaves change from green to yellow, then orange, and finally red. I grew up in Florida and am not used to experiencing all four seasons. We only had pollen season, lovebug season, summer, and hurricane season. If you’re a Floridian you know exactly what I mean.
I was thrilled when my family decided to visit Colorado for a long weekend this fall! I found the perfect cozy mountain cabin for their stay. This mountain cabin sits right on a river and is only a thirty-minute drive from Rocky Mountain National Park. If you’re looking to go off-roading, climbing, hiking, biking, or see the fall foliage in Colorado then this Airbnb is for you!

It’s called the Hygge House on Airbnb. The Wild Basin entrance to the Rocky Mountain National Park is only a few minutes away. The cabin is a short, beautiful drive from Allenspark as well as being slightly further from Estes Park, Nederland, Lyons, Boulder, and Denver (about 30-40 minutes). If you’re interested in planning a ski trip and need a place to stay Eldora Ski Resort is only 30 minutes away!
We stayed in the cabin during early October right as the aspens began to change. So far experiencing Autumn is one of my favorite things about living in Colorado. Unfortunately, I didn’t get many photos of the aspens during the trip. But that’s okay, I was too busy enjoying the moment! The Beautiful photos below are from some local blogger’s posts about Colorado’s fall foliage. Make sure to check them out if you’re planning on being in Colorado during the fall.

Colorado’s Leaves Are Changing. Here’s When and Where to Peep Them
Next year I plan to do a road trip to see a couple of these spots! The weather is perfect for camping in late September – early October. As long as the snow doesn’t come early. Fingers crossed! Let me know in the comments if there’s anywhere in Colorado I should add to my Fall Roadtrip Bucket List.

Since the cabin was so close to Estes Park we heading there one day to hike and eat at Bird & Jim. Their food is locally sourced and super tasty! If you’re thinking about hiking in the park check out this blog post to learn about The Best Hikes in Rocky Mountain National Park. We ended up doing one of the shorter trails leading to Long’s Peak (shown below.) It was crazy to see the rivers begin to ice over. Winter is just around the corner!
