We had the most magical weekend skiing at Eldora Mountain Resort in Nederland, Colorado. These days it’s not easy to plan a family vacation. In fact, the last time we all skied together was over five years ago! This skiing trip was longtime overdue. Thanks to the beautiful weather, 9+ inches of new snow, and the coziest Airbnb this trip became one of my favorite memories since moving to Colorado.
Where to Stay
We stayed at this gorgeous Airbnb in downtown Nederland. It was only ten minutes from Eldora, two minutes from some of the best restaurants in town, and a quick thirty-minute drive to Boulder. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay in Nederland, with three to six guests then this Airbnb is for you!

Where to Eat
The holy trinity of Nederland. These three restaurants are my favorite spots to stop for a bite.
Crosscut Pizza
Brick oven pizzas and beer are a great way to end a ski day. They also have a huge tap list + gluten-free & dairy-free options.
Salto Coffee Works
A cute coffee shop/bar that also serves food. It’s located next to a ski and bike shop this place has everything!
Ubon Thai
I think I’ve eaten at Ubon Thai three times this season. If that doesn’t tell you something about the place then you need to try it yourself.
Skiing at Eldora Mountain Resort in Colorado
When Noah and I bought the IKON Ski pass this season we knew Eldora would be one of our “home ski resorts.” It’s the closest ski resort to Fort Collins and has one major advantage over the rest of the resorts. You don’t have to drive I-70 to get there. What’s so bad about I-70 you ask? Well anyone that has braved it on weekends knows just how backed up that highway can get. I’m talking over two-hour delays in standstill traffic. No Bueno.
Luckily Eldora is just a 40-minute drive from Boulder, CO. Most Thursday nights Noah and I pack up his 4-runner and drive to Nederland. See the photo below for a sneak peek of his car build. I plan to write a blog about that soon. The first time we visited we found a couple of dispersed camping spots near the slopes. Our car camping set up is comfortable enough got us to sleep in freezing temperates. It allows us to get up bright and early to ski before the crowds.
